How to add metadata to templates

Metadata in the context of Bounsel is information that details and categorizes your templates, making them more searchable and organized. It allows you to define specific attributes or details, such as document type, purpose, or required fields, enhancing the efficiency of document management and customization within the Bounsel platform.

Go to the Bounsel website and navigate to the templates section.

When making a new template Click on the “Metadata” tab in the top menu bar to manage the Metadata of your template

  1. To add new metadata, click on the “Add metadata” option. This action will bring up a popup window where you can define new metadata.

  1. In the popup window, enter the name of your metadata. If you wish to make this metadata required for every use of the template, ensure you click on the “Is required?” checkbox.

  1. Provide a placeholder for your metadata and include an example to guide users on what information they should provide.

Include a help text to offer additional information about the metadata, making it clearer for users. Once you’ve entered all necessary details, click “Save” to finalize and add the metadata to your template. This ensures all your edits are saved, and the latest version of your work is securely stored.
